How the site may earn revenue

Affiliate Disclosure

Some links on Zakynthos.net may be affiliate links. If you follow one and complete an eligible booking or purchase, we may receive a commission from the partner.

In brief

The commission normally comes from the partner, not as a separate charge added by Zakynthos.net. Affiliate relationships help fund the site but do not give partners editorial control.

01

The short version

Zakynthos.net publishes free destination content and may earn revenue when readers use selected outbound links. A link can lead to an accommodation platform, tour marketplace, activity provider or another travel service. If the visit is tracked and the reader later completes a qualifying transaction under the partner’s rules, the partner may pay us a commission. Not every external link is an affiliate link, and following a link does not create a charge by itself.

Affiliate tracking can depend on cookies, device information, referral parameters or another identifier controlled by the partner. Eligibility windows and attribution rules differ. Zakynthos.net does not decide whether a transaction qualifies, and we may not receive information that identifies the individual traveller. The external partner’s privacy notice and booking terms govern what happens after the reader leaves our website.

We use clear notices in or near content that contains a material commercial relationship. This page provides the full explanation. A page-level label is intentionally shorter so it can be seen before a reader reaches an eligible link. Readers should not need to search the footer to discover that a recommendation may generate revenue.

02

Current and future partner categories

The site is designed to support accommodation and experience discovery. Future hotel or accommodation results may be supplied by a booking platform or an affiliate feed. Tour and activity results may be supplied through the Viator partner ecosystem or another marketplace. We may also link directly to local providers, transport services or relevant travel products where an approved relationship exists. The exact mix can change as integrations are enabled or removed.

An integration may display product names, images, availability indicators, ratings or descriptive data received from a partner. Those marketplace fields can change without a full editorial update. Zakynthos.net is responsible for how it frames and labels the inventory, while the partner is responsible for the product page, live availability, checkout, payment processing and contractual terms shown on its service.

Mentioning a potential platform here does not mean that every integration is currently active or that the platform endorses Zakynthos.net. Before launch, the site operator should make this disclosure match the services actually enabled. Obsolete partners should be removed, and new material relationships should be added.

03

How affiliate relationships affect selection

Our destination analysis begins with the visitor’s decision, not the commission. We compare areas, experience types, access considerations and practical limitations before presenting commercial inventory. A product should not be described as suitable merely because it can generate revenue. Editorial pages may link to non-commercial official sources and may recommend an approach for which no affiliate product exists.

Commission rates, conversion likelihood and marketplace availability can influence which commercial links are technically displayed, but they must not rewrite factual conclusions. A partner cannot pay to remove a conservation rule, hide a difficult boarding method or turn a weather-dependent route into a guarantee. If a paid placement or sponsored article is accepted, it should be labelled separately rather than disguised as ordinary editorial selection.

We do not claim to test every hotel, boat, restaurant or activity personally. Where a recommendation is based on research rather than first-hand use, the page should not imply otherwise. We use location, visitor fit, published facilities, access details, responsible-practice signals and reliable third-party information. Readers should still evaluate current reviews and the final provider terms.

04

Prices, availability and booking responsibility

Zakynthos.net intentionally avoids publishing fixed prices in its core destination content because travel prices change by date, party, currency, availability and booking conditions. A partner integration may show current commercial information if configured later, but the checkout page is authoritative. Taxes, fees, inclusions, deposits, cancellation rights and exchange-rate effects should be checked before payment.

We do not take payment or become the travel service provider merely because a reader started from our website. The contract is normally between the traveller and the business or marketplace identified during checkout. Questions about confirmation, amendments, refunds, no-shows, insurance, accessibility promises or service delivery should be directed to that company. Zakynthos.net cannot inspect a partner account or alter a reservation.

If a commercial link is broken or points to a materially different product, contact us with the page URL and link description. We can repair or remove our link. We cannot guarantee that a previously available listing will return or that a provider will accept a particular request.

05

Cookies, consent and attribution

Affiliate programs often use referral identifiers to attribute a transaction. Depending on the implementation and applicable law, optional tracking may require consent before it is stored or accessed. Zakynthos.net should configure its consent tool so non-essential analytics, advertising and affiliate technologies follow the visitor’s choice. Necessary security and preference functions are treated separately where the law permits.

Rejecting optional cookies should not block access to the site’s editorial content. It may prevent affiliate attribution, personalized advertising or certain embedded features from working as intended. A reader can still visit the partner directly, although the site may then receive no commission. The Privacy Policy explains categories of information, purposes, legal bases and user rights in more detail.

Tracking behavior is ultimately determined by the technologies actually installed. The site owner must audit plugins, tag managers, analytics, advertising and partner scripts before publication and after material changes. This disclosure cannot make an undisclosed tracker compliant merely by describing affiliate relationships in general terms.

06

Questions and transparency

If you are unsure whether a link is commercial, ask through the Contact page and include the URL. We aim to use recognisable language such as “affiliate link,” “partner inventory” or an equivalent plain explanation. A stylized button or card should not be the only clue that a commercial relationship exists.

Businesses may propose partnerships, but contact does not guarantee coverage. Proposals should disclose compensation, gifted access, data-feed terms and content-control expectations at the outset. We reserve the right to decline arrangements that conflict with conservation, reader usefulness or editorial independence.

Our approach follows the general principle that a material connection should be clear and difficult to miss. Requirements vary by jurisdiction and context, so the website operator should obtain professional advice for its actual business structure and markets. This disclosure is an operational commitment to readers, not a substitute for legal review.

Commercial reporting should also be read carefully. Statements such as “popular,” “frequently booked” or “traveller favourite” may reflect partner data rather than our own testing. When such labels are shown, the interface should make their source understandable and avoid turning a marketplace badge into an editorial award. We may analyze anonymous aggregate performance to improve page routing, but sales volume alone is not evidence that an experience is right for every traveller.
